For the fly fisherman/woman, plying for tiger fish provides the ultimate challenge. If the tiger fish are not biting then the chances are good that other species such as bream will be caught instead. The necessary tackle and bait are provided along with an informative guide who will select a prime spot from where catches are to be made. You are able to fish from the River Boat or from the Tender Boats.

Ornithologists have long been drawn to this veritable treasure trove of bird life, which is home among others to the Pel’s Fishing Owl, which is often heard but rarely seen. The African Fish Eagle, which has one mate for life, is a common sight, perching high on the branch of a tree uttering its distinctive plaintive cry. A myriad of water birds may be viewed either in the delta from the houseboat or tender boats.

The Delta’s wetland wilderness of looping channels, islands forested with palms and wide grassy floodplains are host to a magnificent array of wild life. Hippos and crocodiles can be found in the maze of waterways. Explore these waterways with your experienced skipper on one of the more maneuverable “tender” boats.

Request with your captain to take you on a full day picnic to a nearby Island. Pack lunch and depart early morning, with sightseeing on the way towards the Island. Underneath a big tree enjoy a hearty picnic lunch with beverages whilst listening to the amazing bird life.
